A new challenge

Already owners of a campsite in the Pyrénées-Orientales (La Tour de France campsite), Marie-Laure and Max wanted to start a second project in 2020. A second campsite but in the Têt Valley this time, at the foot of the sumptuous Canigou. It will be the campsite of PRADES (66). Formerly a municipal campsite, the young couple wants to give a second wind to this 80 pitches site and to these big trees, some of which are over a hundred years old, which have already seen thousands of campers.

The Canigou, the Mediterranean and the Sun

Ideally located in the town of Prades, from here, campers can easily walk to the town centre or the shopping centre just a few hundred metres away. An ideal location, combining the advantages of the city with the relaxing side of nature. The campsite has a relaxing atmosphere. The vegetation is omnipresent and everything has been thought out to respect the natural space.

For this first year, the new managers have put the emphasis on accommodation. Old chalets have been replaced by modern and bright rental accommodation. A green space has been created for each of them with a terrace, garden furniture and a relaxing seat. For the pitches, plants have been added later on while waiting for the total renovation of the sanitary facilities in the 2021 season. Aware that our clients expect quality and service from their long stay in the campsite, the young couple wished to emphasize comfort. The camping spirit is still present but comfort remains a priority.

Renamed Les Portes du Canigou campsite, the establishment is currently rated 2 stars but aims to obtain its 3rd star in 2020.

A 3*** campsite for the 2020 season

And there’s no shortage of plans. A catering area will be created for the month of July and August. A small children’s playground and a bowling alley have been redesigned. In terms of entertainment, concerts are already scheduled for the coming summer and convivial moments such as the “apéro des régions” (regional aperitif) will see the light of day in 2020. All these strong points have enabled the young couples to make a positive change to their first establishment in the Agly valley (66-Pyrénées-Orientales).

In the years to come, Marie- Laure and Max wish to develop an aquatic area within the campsite in harmony with nature. To date, campers benefit from the proximity of the municipal swimming pool (300m on foot) and preferential rates.
